What is U-Mask?
U-Mask is a clear cooling mask designed to replace and reduce the number of disposable masks being used by the general public.​
Why design U-Mask?
The need for the world to wear a mask due to Covid-19 has made plastic pollution even worse. The current disposable mask has also caused other numerous problems such as facial acne, littering and even preventing the deaf community from going out independently.

Adjustable Ear hoops
I wanted to take up the challenge of not using the usual ear bands that cause a lot of discomfort after wearing them for some time. These bands are fully flexible and cushioned.
Rechargeable Cooling Fan
Cooling air is proven to improve skin conditions as our sebaceous glands do not have to produce more oil to protect our skin which has caused skin acne issues for people. The fan is able to be powered continuously for 5 hours.

The fan also helps to circulate airflow within the mask better as positive air pressure is created within the mask as a filtered fan is blowing more air in.

However, there must not be too much air pressure channeled into the mask as it can in turn make it harder for the user to breathe. Hence only a single fan is used.
